Reaction dynamics
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009966
The study of the detailed motions of atoms and molecules during a chemical reaction, focusing on how energy is distributed and transformed as bonds break and form. It investigates the forces between reacting species and the pathways they follow on a potential energy surface. This field often employs molecular beam experiments and computational methods to observe and model these processes at a fundamental level.
