Reaction cross-section
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009965
A measure of the probability that a specific chemical reaction will occur when two particles collide. It represents an effective area that the target particle presents to the incident particle for a reaction to take place. The reaction cross-section is typically expressed in units of area, such as square meters or barns.
