Net absorption cross-section

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007839

A measure of the effective area that a molecule or atom presents to incident radiation for absorption, accounting for both absorption and stimulated emission processes. This value quantifies the probability of a photon being absorbed by a species. It is typically expressed in units of area, such as square meters per molecule.
