Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007838
A two-dimensional lattice into which an adsorbate becomes ordered on a surface within a certain range of coverage and temperature. Nets are met especially in localized adsorption, where molecules occupy definite sites, and they show up as ordered overlayer patterns in low-energy electron diffraction. They differ from the disordered, freely moving layer of non-localized adsorption.
