Limiting adsorption current

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006595

The maximum current observed in an electrochemical experiment that is controlled by the rate of adsorption of an electroactive species onto the electrode surface. This current becomes constant when the adsorption sites on the electrode are saturated or when the rate of adsorption reaches its maximum. It provides information about the adsorption kinetics and surface coverage.
