Limiting catalytic current

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006596

The maximum current observed in an electrochemical process where a chemical reaction regenerates the electroactive species at the electrode surface, thereby enhancing the current beyond what would be observed by diffusion alone. This current becomes constant when the rate of the catalytic reaction reaches its maximum. It is characteristic of catalytic electrode reactions.
