Applied potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012882
The electrical voltage intentionally imposed across an electrochemical cell or between an electrode and a reference electrode. This external potential drives electrochemical reactions by influencing the energy levels of electrons at the electrode-solution interface. It is a key parameter controlled in voltammetry and other electroanalytical techniques.
