Half-wave potential
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005076
The potential at which the current in a polarographic or voltammetric experiment reaches exactly half of its limiting current value. This potential is characteristic of the electroactive species undergoing reduction or oxidation at the electrode surface. It is independent of the concentration of the electroactive species and is measured against a reference electrode.
