Limiting diffusion current
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006599
The maximum current observed in an electrochemical system that is solely controlled by the rate at which an electroactive species diffuses from the bulk solution to the electrode surface. This current becomes constant when the concentration of the electroactive species at the electrode surface approaches zero. It is directly proportional to the concentration of the electroactive species in the bulk solution.
