Faradaic current
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004339
The component of the total current in an electrochemical cell that results from electron transfer across the electrode-electrolyte interface, driven by an electrode reaction. This current is directly proportional to the rate of the chemical reaction occurring at the electrode surface. It is distinguished from non-faradaic current, which arises from charging of the double layer.
