Net faradaic current

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007843

The total current flowing across an electrode-solution interface that is directly associated with electron transfer reactions, representing the algebraic sum of anodic and cathodic currents. This current is distinct from non-faradaic currents, which arise from charging of the electrical double layer. It is directly proportional to the rate of the electrochemical reaction.
