Square-wave current
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011258
A current component in square-wave voltammetry that arises from the presence of a particular substance, faradaic when the substance is electroactive and non-faradaic when it is surface active. It is read from the response to a square-wave potential modulation superimposed on a staircase ramp. Forward and reverse currents are sampled at the end of each half-cycle, and the net current is their difference.
