Net current

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007840

The algebraic sum of all individual currents flowing across an interface or through a circuit element. In electrochemistry, it represents the difference between the anodic and cathodic currents at an electrode. A zero net current indicates a system at equilibrium or a steady state where opposing currents balance.
