Adsorption

The process by which molecules of a gas, liquid, or dissolved solid adhere to a surface. This phenomenon involves the accumulation of a substance at the interface between two phases, such as a solid and a liquid. Adsorption is distinct from absorption, where a substance penetrates into the bulk of another material.
