Radiation adsorption

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009817

The absorption of radiation by a material, wrongly written as adsorption, since radiation is absorbed and not adsorbed on a surface. The properly named process is radiation-induced adsorption, in which a molecule becomes bound at a solid or liquid interface after the adsorbent absorbs high-energy radiation. Photocatalysis terminology flags the combination as misleading.
