Radiation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009816

The process by which energy propagates through space or a material medium, either as electromagnetic waves or as energetic particles. This transfer of energy does not require a material medium for propagation, unlike conduction or convection. Examples include alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, and X-rays.
