Wavenumber in medium

The reciprocal of the wavelength of electromagnetic radiation as it propagates through a specific material medium, representing the number of waves per unit length. This value is influenced by the refractive index of the medium. It is commonly expressed in units of reciprocal centimeters (cm⁻¹).
