Absorption index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000077
The imaginary component of the complex refractive index, representing the attenuation of electromagnetic radiation as it propagates through a medium. It quantifies how strongly a material absorbs light at a particular wavelength. This dimensionless quantity is directly related to the absorption coefficient of the material.
