Specific absorption coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011095

A measure of how strongly a substance absorbs light at a particular wavelength, normalized by its concentration and the path length of the light through the substance. It quantifies the intrinsic ability of a material to absorb radiation. This coefficient is typically expressed in units of L g⁻¹ cm⁻¹ or m² kg⁻¹.
