Scattering coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010562

A measure of the probability that radiation will be scattered per unit path length in a medium. It quantifies the extent to which light or other radiation is redirected from its original path due to interactions with particles or inhomogeneities. This coefficient is typically expressed in units of inverse length, such as cm⁻¹.
