Scattering angle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010561

The angle between the direction of propagation of incident radiation and the direction of propagation of the scattered radiation. It is a key parameter in experiments that measure how light, X-rays, or neutrons are deflected by a sample. The scattering angle is conventionally denoted by the Greek letter theta (θ).
