Phase function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008736
A function that describes the angular distribution of scattered radiation from a particle or a volume element of a medium. It represents the probability that radiation incident on a particle from one direction will be scattered into another specific direction. For isotropic scattering, where light is scattered equally in all directions, the phase function has a constant value of one.
