Linear Napierian absorption coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006627

A measure of how strongly a substance absorbs light at a specific wavelength, defined as the natural logarithm of the ratio of incident to transmitted radiant power per unit path length. It quantifies the attenuation of light intensity as it passes through a medium. This coefficient is expressed in units of inverse length, such as cm-1.
