Linear polarizer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006628
An optical device that converts unpolarized light into linearly polarized light, meaning the electric field oscillations are confined to a single plane. It achieves this by selectively transmitting light waves oscillating in a particular direction while absorbing or reflecting others. Common types include Polaroid filters and Glan-Thompson prisms.
