Linear strain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006633
A measure of the deformation of a material in response to an applied force, specifically the fractional change in length along a particular direction. It is calculated as the change in length divided by the original length of the material. Linear strain is a dimensionless quantity, often expressed as a percentage or in units like meters per meter.
