Volume strain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013697
The fractional change in volume of a material when subjected to stress. It is a dimensionless quantity, representing the ratio of the change in volume to the original volume. This type of strain is particularly relevant in the study of elastic properties of solids and fluids under hydrostatic pressure.
