Volume thermodilatometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012619
A technique for measuring changes in the volume of a material as a function of temperature. It involves immersing a sample in a liquid and monitoring the liquid level in a capillary tube as the temperature is varied. This method is used to determine thermal expansion coefficients and detect phase transitions in polymers.
