Dielectric thermal analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003155

A thermal analysis technique that measures the dielectric properties of a substance as a function of temperature and time. It involves applying an alternating electric field to a material and monitoring its response, such as capacitance and dielectric loss, as the temperature is varied. This method is particularly sensitive to molecular motions and phase transitions involving changes in dipole moments, and it is often used to characterize polymers.
