Emanation thermal analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003829
A thermal analysis technique that measures the release of radioactive gases, such as radon or thoron, from a solid sample as a function of temperature. The sample is doped with a radioactive precursor, and changes in the emanation rate indicate structural transformations or surface area changes. This method is particularly sensitive to phase transitions and sintering processes.
