Differential thermal analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003178
A thermoanalytical technique that measures the temperature difference between a sample and an inert reference material as both are subjected to the same controlled temperature program. Endothermic or exothermic processes occurring in the sample, such as phase transitions or chemical reactions, are detected as temperature deviations. The temperature difference is plotted against temperature or time.
