Volume fraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012614
The ratio of the volume of a specific component to the total volume of a mixture or solution. It is a dimensionless quantity that expresses the concentration of a constituent. For ideal mixtures, the volume fraction is simply the volume of the component divided by the sum of the volumes of all components.
