Amount-of-substance fraction

A dimensionless quantity that expresses the ratio of the amount of substance of a particular component to the total amount of substance of all components in a mixture. This is also known as the mole fraction. The sum of the amount-of-substance fractions for all components in a given mixture always equals unity.
