Amount concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000507
The quantity obtained by dividing the amount of a component of a mixture, in moles, by the total volume of that mixture. Chemists also call it molar concentration or molarity. Its coherent SI unit is the mole per cubic metre, but laboratory work almost always uses the mole per litre, often written M or mol/dm³.
