Amorphous state
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000506
A solid state of matter characterized by a disordered arrangement of molecules, lacking the long-range periodic order found in crystalline solids. In polymers, this state is defined by the random entanglement of polymer chains. Materials in this state exhibit a glass transition temperature rather than a sharp melting point.
