Plastic transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009026
A type of phase transition in a solid material where the material undergoes a change in its mechanical properties, becoming more ductile or deformable without melting. This transition is often associated with a change in crystal structure or molecular arrangement, allowing for easier atomic or molecular movement. It is distinct from a glass transition, which occurs in amorphous materials.
