Enthalpy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003954
A thermodynamic property of a system, representing its total heat content. It is defined as the sum of the system's internal energy and the energy derived from its pressure and volume. The change in enthalpy (ΔH) during a process at constant pressure is equal to the heat absorbed or released by the system, with a negative value indicating an exothermic reaction.
