Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013406

The physical layout of a microplate, defined by the total number of wells and their arrangement in a rectangular grid. This configuration determines the density of samples that can be processed simultaneously in high-throughput screening assays. Common formats include 96-well (8x12 grid), 384-well (16x24 grid), and 1536-well (32x48 grid), all adhering to standardized footprint dimensions set by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS).
