Plate reader
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013407
An instrument designed to detect and quantify biological, chemical, or physical events within the wells of a microplate. Plate readers automate the measurement of light-based signals, such as absorbance, fluorescence intensity, or luminescence, from each well. These instruments are configured to handle standard plate formats, and many models can process multiple plates in sequence using an integrated plate stacker.
