Support plate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011613
A rigid, inert sheet, typically made of glass, aluminum, or plastic, onto which a thin layer of adsorbent material is coated for use in thin-layer chromatography. This plate provides mechanical stability for the stationary phase during sample application, development, and visualization. The standard dimensions for these plates vary, with 20 cm x 20 cm being a common size.
