Planar chromatography

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008996

A chromatographic technique where the stationary phase is spread as a thin layer on a flat surface, such as a glass plate or plastic sheet. The mobile phase moves through the stationary phase by capillary action or external force, separating components of a mixture. Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and paper chromatography are common examples.
