Horizontal elution

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005393

A chromatographic technique where the mobile phase flows horizontally across a stationary phase. This method is primarily employed in planar chromatography, such as thin-layer chromatography, where the solvent front moves across a flat bed. The separation occurs as components migrate at different rates along the horizontal plane.
