Ascending elution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000830
A chromatographic technique where the mobile phase flows upwards through a stationary phase, against the force of gravity. This method is primarily used in paper chromatography and thin-layer chromatography, where the solvent front moves from the bottom towards the top of the chromatographic medium. The separation of components occurs as they are carried upwards at different rates.
