Descending elution/development
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003056
A chromatographic technique where the mobile phase flows downwards through the stationary phase, driven by gravity. The solvent reservoir is positioned above the top of the stationary phase, allowing the eluent to descend through the column or paper. This method is often used in paper chromatography and can offer good separation efficiency for certain analytes.
