Elution time

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003824

The time required for a specific component of a mixture to pass through a chromatographic column and emerge at the detector. This parameter is characteristic for a given substance under specific chromatographic conditions, such as flow rate, column type, and temperature. It is often used for qualitative identification of components in a sample.
