Peak elution volume

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008566

The volume of mobile phase that passes through a chromatographic column from the point of sample injection until the maximum concentration of a specific analyte elutes from the column. This volume is characteristic for a given analyte under specific chromatographic conditions. It is a measure of retention and is used for qualitative identification in chromatography.
