Total retention volume
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012148
The volume of mobile phase that passes through a chromatographic column from the point of sample injection until the maximum concentration of a specific component elutes. This volume accounts for both the mobile phase in the column and any dead volume in the system. It is expressed in units of volume, such as milliliters.
