Total sample consumption system
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012149
A liquid-sample introduction system for atomic spectrometry that delivers all of the sample to the atomizer, giving 100% transport efficiency. Examples are direct injection nebulizers and total consumption burners, which have no spray chamber and so no drain loss. Conventional pneumatic nebulizer and spray chamber combinations transport only a few percent of the sample to the plasma.
