Transport efficiency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012262
The fraction of an analyte introduced into an analytical system that successfully reaches the detection region. This parameter quantifies the effectiveness of sample introduction and transfer components, such as nebulizers, spray chambers, and transfer lines, in delivering the analyte to the measurement zone. It significantly influences the sensitivity and detection limits of techniques like atomic absorption or emission spectroscopy.
