Total consumption time

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012130

The time needed to consume a prepared sample solution completely in flame or similar atomic spectrometry, found by dividing the volume of sample by the rate at which the instrument takes up and uses liquid. It is measured in seconds and fixes how long a signal can be recorded from one discrete sample, so it matters for small-volume or discrete nebulization.
