Nebulization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007795

The process of converting a liquid sample into a fine aerosol or mist of small droplets. This is achieved by passing a high-velocity gas stream over or through the liquid, or by ultrasonic vibration. Nebulization is a preparatory step in many analytical techniques, such as inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.
